Receiving Automatically in Fax Mode
Your machine is preset to Fax mode at the factory. If you have changed the
receiving mode, take the following steps to receive faxes automatically:
1 Press Receive Mode.
2 Press and hold Receive Mode until “Fax” displays on the bottom line.
You may have to repeat this action once or twice depending on the
mode you’re in.
3 When you receive a fax, the machine answers the call on a specified
number of rings and automatically receives the fax.
To change the number of rings, see page 1.20.
Receiving Manually in Tel Mode
You can receive a fax call manually with the Start key.
1 Press the On Hook Dial key or lift the external handset.
2 Press Start Copy/Fax, then the “1.Sending 2.Receiving” message
appears on the display.
3 Press 2 by using the numer keypad for receiving.
4 Press Enter to start fax receiving.
The machine begins receiving a fax and returns to Standby Mode when
the reception is completed.
Receiving Automatically in Ans/Fax Mode
For using this mode, you must attach an answering machine to the EXT jack
on the back of your machine. See page 1.11.
1 Press Receive Mode.
2 Press and hold Receive Mode until “Ans/Fax” displays on the bottom
line.
You may have to repeat this action once or twice depending on the
mode you’re in.
3 When you receive a call, the answering machine answers.
If the caller leaves a message, the answering machine stores the
message as it would normally. If your machine hears a fax tone on the
line, it automatically starts to receive the fax.
