4.3 Removing the PCI Adapter Driver in Windows XP

If an existing version of the LA-5033 driver exists in the system, remove it and install the latest version
from the Symbol Web site

(http://www.symbol.com/services/downloads/wn_abg_drivers.html).

If the LA-5033 PCI Adapter driver and software package was downloaded and
launched from the Symbol Web site, the user is required to remove the driver
from the system and begin the installation over.

To remove a driver from the system in Windows XP:

1.

Click Start and select Control Panel.

2.

Select the Switch to Classic View Windows XP option.

3.

Select System and click on the Hardware tab.

4.

Click the Device Manager button.

5.

Double-click Network Adapters.

A list of the devices currently supported on the system by Windows XP displays.

6.

Right-click on the Symbol LA-5033 Wireless Networker 802.11a/g PCI Adapter and select
Uninstall.

The Confirm Device Removal window warns the user the system will uninstall the device.

7.

Select OK.

8.

Install the driver again, either with the Wireless Networker Configuration Utility or as a
standalone driver installation.
