Paper Menu
Use this menu to define all settings relating to print material
input and output, as well as the specific print material you are
using with your printer.
(*: the default setting)
Item Explanation
Tray Source
Using this item, you can set the tray you will
use.
• If you select Auto Select, the printer can
automatically determine the source.
• Select MP Tray or Manual Tray to use the
Multi-Purpose Tray. If you select Manual
Tray, you need to press the On Line/
Continue button each time you print a
page.
• The Tray 2 item is available only when the
optional Tray 2 is installed.
Media Size
Select the paper size currently loaded in the
tray.
Custom Width Select the paper size currently loaded in the
tray. This menu is shown when Media Size
value is set up by Custom.
• Custom Width: Set the custom width from
76 to 216 mm.
Custom
Height
Select the paper size currently loaded in the
tray. This menu is shown when Media Size
value is set up by Custom.
• Custom Height: Set the custom height
from 127 to 356 mm.
Values: Auto Select*, Tray 1, MP Tray,
Tray 2, Manual Tray
Values: Letter, Legal, A4, EXE, JIS B5, ISO
B5, No.10 Env., Monarch Env., DL Env., C5
Env., C6 Env., US Folio, A5, A6, Custom,

Values: A4:210 mm/ Letter:215 mm

Media Type
The Media Type setting lets you specify the type
of print material you are using to get the best
result.
• Plain Paper: Select for plain paper.
• Thick: Select for thick paper
• Thin: Select for thin paper
• Bond: Select for thick paper.
• Color Paper: Select for colored paper.
• Card Stock: Select for card stocks.
• Labels: Select for labels.
• Transparency: Select for transparencies.
• Envelope: Select for envelops.
• Preprinted: Preprinted is for paper with
something else printed on it, such as
letterhead.
Tray Chaining
When you select any other value except Auto
Select from Tray Source and the selected
tray is empty, the printer automatically prints
from other trays.
If this menu item is set to Off, the
On Line/Continue button backlight blinks in
orange and the printer doesn’t work until you
insert paper into the specified tray.
