Step 3: Connect the VGP-XL1B to the
Host Computer
Connecting the VGP-XL1B CD/DVD Changer/Recorder to the your
computer is a simple process requiring only a single cable.
1 Using the supplied i.LINK
®
cable, connect the end without the
ferrite bead (a large node close to one end of the cable) to an
i.LINK
®
connector on the host computer, and connect the cable
end with the ferrite bead to an i.LINK
®
connector on the back
panel of the VGP-XL1B CD/DVD Changer/Recorder.
2 Turn the power to the host computer on before turning the power
on the VGP-XL1B CD/DVD Changer/Recorder.
To verify that the installation was successful, do one of the
following.
To verify using Device Manager
1 Click the Start icon from the Window taskbar, and then click
Control Panel .
2 Click Hardware and Sound , then click Device Manager. The
User Account Control popup appears. Click Continue .
3 Double-click on Medium Changer Devices . Verify that your
Changer(s) are listed.
To verify using Media Center
1 Start Media Center.
2 From the top level menu, look for the My Changer option.
Note : Before you begin, make sure that the power has been
turned off to the host computer and any peripheral equipment.
