Self-diagnosis function
When there is a problem with the unit, a code of three or five digits (a
combination of the alphabet and numbers) is displayed on the TV
screen or in the front panel display. If this occurs, check the following
code chart.

E GGGG
( GGGG are optional
numbers.)
Means
The battery pack is
fully consumed.
The AC power adapter
has a problem.
• The disc is dirty.
• The player cannot
play the disc.
To prevent a
malfunction, the self-
diagnosis function is
working.
Do
Connect the AC power adapter
to recharge.
Connect the supplied AC power
adapter firmly. If the code
number is still displayed, see
page 66.
• Clean the disc with a
soft cloth (page 63).
• Make sure that the disc
is compatible (page 4).
Please contact your Sony dealer
and present the five digit
number displayed. Example:
