1 Display window
2 T MARK button

5 VOLUME +*/– buttons

* The VOLUME + button has a tactile dot.

6 Terminals for attaching dry battery case
7 DC IN 3V jack
8 GROUP/CANCEL button
9 OPEN button
q; 5-way contorl key

• For basic operations

Press N* to play/enter.

* The N button has a tactile dot.

Press ./> to rewind/fast
forward.
Press X to pause.
Press CHGx to stop/charge.

• For moving the cursor and entering

selected items (during text entry and
other settings).

qa Jog dial (MENU/ENTER)

Press to enter the menu, turn to select,
and then press to enter.

qs LINE IN (OPT) jack
qd MIC (PLUG IN POWER)* jack

* There is a tactile dot beside the MIC

(PLUG IN POWER) jack.

The display window of the

1 Character information display

Displays the track, group, or disc
name*, date, error messages, track
numbers, etc.

* Names appear only with MDs that have

been labeled.

2 Group indication
3 Disc indication

Shows that the disc is rotating for
recording, playing or editing an MD.

4 REC indication

Lights up while recording. Flashes
when standing by for recording.

5 SYNC (synchro-recording) indication

Lights up while synchro-recording.

6 Play mode indication

Shows the play mode of the MD.

7 Level meter

Shows the level of the MD being
played.

8 LP2 (LP2 stereo), LP4 (LP4stereo),

MONO (monaural) indication

9 Sound indication

Lights up when Digital Sound Preset is
on.

q; Battery level indication

Shows approximate battery condition.
While charging the rechargeable
battery, this indication shows the
charging condition.

qa Melody timer indication

The headphones/earphones with
a remote control
