Healthy Living monitors have been clinically tested against a scientific
device called a sphygmomanometer, considered the gold standard in blood
pressure measurement. All Healthy Living monitors have performed equiv-
alent to measurements taken with this scientific device and are within the
accuracy limits prescribed by the American National Standard for Electronic
or Automated Sphygmomanometers. All Healthy Living monitors have been
clinically tested and have met all the requirements to achieve AAMI
(Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) certification.
14 Accuracy/Special Conditions/Battery Installation

Accuracy
As a safeguard, we recommend that if you have arrhythmias such as atrial or ven-
tricular premature beats and atrial fibrillation or any other special conditions you
should check with your physician before using your Healthy Living BPM.
Using the 4 AA Alkaline batteries included, locate the battery
compartment on the bottom of the monitor. Remove the bat-
tery cover and insert the batteries, making sure the polarities
(+/-) are correct. Snap the battery cover back into place.
When the display screen shows “ ” it is time to replace
with 4 new AA batteries.
Keep batteries out of reach of children.
Dispose of batteries in accordance with applicable local law.
Battery Installation
* To make the batteries last longer, you may want to remove them if you are not using your
monitor for an extended period of time.
* If the unita is used daily, please change the alkaline batteries every 2 months for better per-
formance.
