MD Editing

- Editing a Recorded MiniDisc -

To combine tracks

Press the MD

button and load a MiniDisc (see page 17).

Whilst in the stop mode, select the second of the two adjacent
tracks you want to combine using the

Or start playing the second track and then press the MD

Press the NAME/TOC button, and within 10 seconds, select
“COMBINE” using the

Within 10 seconds, press the MEMORY/ENTER button.

To cancel the operation, press the MD

button.

Press the MEMORY/ENTER button again.

The two tracks are combined, and the unit is stopped at the beginning of
the combined track.

The numbers assigned to the tracks following the combined track are auto-
matically decreased by one.

Notes:

When you want to combine two non-adjacent tracks, put them next to each other
using the MOVE function and combine them using the COMBINE function.

The first track name will be used. When it is not titled, the second track name will
be used.

This function cannot be used in the random or programmed play mode.

In the following cases, tracks may not be combined.

Digital recorded track and analogue recorded track.

Long play recorded track and stereo recorded track.

Tracks whose recording time is less than 12 seconds.

Editing a Recorded MiniDisc

To divide a track

Press the MD

button and load a MiniDisc (see page 17).

Play the track which you want to divide into two, and press the
MD

button at the point where you want to divide the track.

Press the NAME/TOC button, and within 10 seconds, select “DI-
VIDE” using the

Within 10 seconds, press the MEMORY/ENTER button.

To cancel the operation, press the MD

button.

Press the MEMORY/ENTER button again.

The track is divided, and the unit is stopped at the beginning of the second
track.

The numbers of the tracks which come after the divided track are automati-
cally increased by one.

Notes:

The two new tracks will have the same name. However, in the TOC FULL condi-
tion, the second track may not be named.

Each disc can hold up to 255 tracks. However, even if the number of assigned
tracks has not reached 255, it might not be possible to make any further divisions
of tracks.

This function cannot be used in the random or programmed play mode.
