Turning the PS3™ system on and off

Turning on the system
Turn on the system using either one of the following methods:
Turning off the system
Turn off the system by selecting (Turn Off
System) under (Users) in the home menu.
Notice
Do not use the main power switch on the system rear
to turn off a system while the power indicator is lit solid
green or fl ashing green, as doing so may cause data
loss, data corruption, or damage to the system.
Hints
• You can turn off the system by touching the power
button on the system front until you hear a beep (about
two seconds). If you touch the power button for more
than 10 seconds, the system will be forced to shut
down, which may cause data loss, data corruption, or
damage to the system.
• If you will not be using the system for a long period of
time, confi rm that the power indicator is lit solid red, and
then use the main power switch on the system rear to
turn off the system's main power.
