Locking or Unlocking the Keypad

You can lock the keypad and volume keys to avoid
pressing keys by accident.

To lock the keypad, press and hold the

key in

Idle Mode until the “Keypad locked” message
appears on the display.

You can also answer incoming calls using any keys,
even if you lock the keypad and volume keys. When
you end the call, your phone returns to the Key
Lock Mode after the period of time specified in the
Auto keylock menu option (Menu 4.3).

You can dial emergency calls even if you lock the
keypad and volume keys. Enter an emergency
number. When the confirmation message appears,
press the Yes soft key or the

key. When you

end the call, your phone returns to the Key Lock
Mode after the period of time specified in the Auto
keylock
menu option (Menu 4.3).

To exit the Key Lock Mode, press the Unlock soft
key and then press the

key again. The “Keypad

unlocked” message appears.

You can also set the phone to automatically lock the
keypad and volume keys in the Auto keylock
menu option (Menu 4.3). For further details, see
page 100.

Making a Call

Using the Number Keypad

When the idle screen is displayed, enter the area
code and phone number, and press the

key.

Note:

If you have set the Auto redial option (Menu

4.6

) to On, the number is redialled

automatically up to ten times if the person you
called does not answer or the line is busy. For
further details, see page 104.

Correcting the Number
