Common Windows Problems

your PC for further information on Windows error messages.
Serial Error
* may be shown only if you
installed the optional serial
interface card.
The printer detects a
serial interface error. Set the baud rate the same as
the setting on your computer.
Tray 1 Open The Tray1 is open. Close the Tray1 to clear the
message.
Tray 2 Open The Tray2 is open. Close the Tray2 to clear the
message.
Wait Image The firmware
programme in the
printer has been
damaged. You need to download the
programme to the printer again.

dealer.

Problem Possible Cause and Solution
“File in Use” message
appears during installation. Exit all software applications. Remove all software from the
StartUp Group, then restart Windows. Reinstall the printer
driver.
“Error Writing to LPTx”
message appears. • Ensure that the cables are connected correctly, the
printer is on.
• If bi-directional communication is not turned on in the
driver, it will also cause this message.
“General Protection Fault”,
“Exception OE”, “Spool32”,
or “Illegal Operation”
messages appear. Close all other applications, reboot Windows and try
printing again.
