Note

Depending on the disc, “4:3 Letter Box” may be
selected automatically instead of “4:3 Pan Scan” or
vice-versa.

Pause Mode

Selects the picture quality in pause mode.

Seamless Playback (HDD/DVD-RW/DVD-
R in VR mode only)

Angle Indicator (DVD VIDEOs only)

Limitation Settings
(Parental Lock)

The “Parental Lock” setup allows you to set
the password and limit the operations.

Press SYSTEM MENU while the
recorder is in stop mode.

Select “Initial Setup,” and press
ENTER.

Select “Parental Lock,” and press
ENTER.

The “Parental Lock” setup display
appears with the following options. The
default settings are underlined.
To turn off the display, press SYSTEM
MENU.

Set Password/Change Password

You can set or change the password that gives
access to the “Channel Options” settings in
the “Digital Tuner” setup and the “Parental
Lock” settings.

Select “Set Password” or “Change
Password” in “Parental Lock,” and press
ENTER.

Select “Next Screen,” and press ENTER.
The display for registering a password
appears.
Example: when you select “Set
Password” in step 1

Field

Outputs a stable, generally
shake-free image.

Frame

Outputs a sharp image, but
may be prone to shake.

Auto

Outputs a generally less
sharp but more stable still
image.

On

Playback is smooth, but
with a trade-off against the
accuracy of the edit points.

Off

You may notice momentary
interruption at edited points
during playback of a VR
mode Playlist.

On

Displays “

” on the TV

screen if various angles
(multi-angles) for a scene
are recorded on the disc.

Off

Does not display “

the TV screen.
