120VAC Ionization Smoke Alarm

• 1276E

Description

The Kidde 1276E smoke alarm provides the same features
and quality you expect in a Kidde manufactured product
plus a front load battery door. The front load battery
operation speeds installation and reduces battery replace-
ment by eliminating the need to remove the alarm from
the ceiling. The alarm incorporates the other contractor
friendly features pioneered by Kidde, including alarm
memory, battery pull tab, dust cover, AC quick connect
and others.

Installer-Friendly Features

(cont.)

• Battery Door – Provides easy access, which reduces the

installation time and battery replacement time. Unique
design ensures owner is aware of battery backup,
because the door will not close if there is no battery or
if battery is installed incorrectly.

• Smart Interconnect – Interconnects up to 24 Kidde

devices including smoke alarms, CO alarms and heat
detector. The interconnect system should not exceed
the NFPA interconnect limit of 12 smoke alarms and/or
18 initiation alarms. With 18 alarms interconnected,
it is still possible to interconnect up to a total of
6 strobe and/or relay devices.

• Battery Pull Tab – Prevents draining battery until

permanent AC power is connected thus reducing
callbacks for battery replacement.

• Dust Cover – Protects the alarm’s sensor from dust and

debris during construction period.

• AC Quick Connect – Wiring pigtail installs quickly with

snap-on harness. Uses same Kidde standard quick-
connect, allowing for easy upgrade.

Installer-Friendly Features

• Alarm Memory – Flashing green LED indicates

origination alarm after condition occurs. Alarm memory
also incorporates an energy management feature that
“shuts down” the memory function if AC power is
absent. This helps reduce battery drain – especially
during the construction phase.

• Tamper Resistant Features – Provides two tamper

resistant options: The unit can be locked to the
mounting bracket to prevent the alarm from being
removed from the ceiling or wall. The battery door can
also be locked to prevent battery removal. Neither
option requires the use of additional components.
