Removing the 500-sheet drawer
If the printer location needs to change, or the printer and media handling options need to be shipped to a new location, all
media handling options must be removed from the printer. For shipping, pack the printer and media handling options
securely to avoid damage.
1 Turn the printer off, and unplug the printer power cord.
2 Disconnect all cables from the back of the printer.
3 Remove any media from the standard bin.
4 Remove any media from the multipurpose feeder, and close the multipurpose feeder.
5 Lift the printer off of the optional drawer, and set the printer aside.
CAUTION: The printer weighs 25.40 kg (56 lb); therefore, it requires at least two people to lift it safely. Use the
printer handholds on the sides of the printer to lift it, and make sure your fingers are not under the
printer when you set it down.
Accessing the system board
Note: This procedure requires a #2 Phillips screwdriver.
CAUTION: Turn the printer off, and unplug the power cord before continuing.
