1. Setup an account with Sprint
You will need an account with Sprint in order to activate and begin using your device.
• If you will be using your device primarily for business purposes, call
1-888-788-4727 .
• If your device is intended primarily for personal use, call 1-888-715-4588 .
• Advise Sprint Customer Service that you are preparing to set up an account for the Sprint
Mobile Broadband USB Modem by Novatel Wireless Ovation U727 for use on a Mac.
• Once you have set up the account with Sprint, you will be provided a few numbers that you
should write down and keep handy since you will need them for activation.
- Sprint Device Phone Number (MDN)
- An MSID
- An MSL
2. MAC OS X: Install the Mac Package located on the Installation CD.
*The Mac package is also available as a download at www.sprint.com/downloads
• Follow the onscreen prompts to install the drivers.
• Open Finder , go to Applications , and locate the Sprint Activation Utility . Enter in the
information provided to you when you set up your Sprint service.
3. Connect to and Disconnect from Sprint Mobile Broadband
Connect and Disconnect Sprint Mobile Broadband using the native Internet Connect software that
is built into the Mac.
• Go to the Phone icon menu located on the Finder navigation bar at the top of your desktop
and click Connect or Disconnect .
• If you do have a Phone icon menu, go to Finder > System Preferences > Network and
select “Novatel Wireless CDMA” from the Show pull-down menu and click Connect or
Disconnect .
