• To avoid the risk of an accident and the

potential violation of applicable laws, this
product is not for use with a video screen
that is visible to the driver.

• In some countries or states the viewing of

images on a display inside a vehicle even
by persons other than the driver may be
illegal. Where such regulations apply, they
must be obeyed.

Before Using

Described in this section is the information you
need to understand before using the navigation
system combined with the Pioneer AV Head Unit
(AVH-P6400CD or AVH-P6400 ) and the Remote
Control operational instructions.
The features described in this chapter are availa-
ble only in the following models (as of February,
2005):
AVH-P6400CD, AVH-P6400
CD-R11 remote control is used in the description.

Characteristics of the Naviga-
tion System when combined
with Pioneer AV Head Unit

When the navigation system is combined with a
Pioneer AV Head Unit (AVH-P6400CD or AVH-
P6400, you can connect Pioneer AV equipments
by using IP-BUS and AV-BUS. When the AV
equipment and navigation units are connected
together it is possible to mix the information dis-
played on the screen. If Navigation is selected as
a Priority then basic audio information can also
be shown as well as the map. If the audio is the
priority then the basic Navi icons can also be dis-
played.

In addition to this, when these two units are con-
nected together, some AV features can be con-
trolled by the voice control system of the
navigation.
