FAX ONLY mode
Activating the FAX ONLY mode
Turn on the AUTO ANSWER mode by pressing
until the AUTO ANSWER light turns on.

The display will show the following.

The unit will automatically answer all calls and only
receive fax documents.

The number of rings before a call is answered can be
changed (see page 60).

Receiving Faxes
Note:
●
This mode should not be used on a telephone line
which is used for both voice and fax calls. When the
unit answers the call, fax communication is attempted
with the other fax machine even if someone is trying to
call you.
If you have a telephone line just for receiving faxes, we recommend the
following setup.
Example: A telephone line is used for voice calls and a separate telephone line for the fax machine.
Therefore, two telephone lines are used. When someone is sending a fax, the fax machine will ring
once (see page 60).
Line 1 – Voice calls
Line 2 – Fax calls
