When connecting to the AV3 input terminals on the front of the
unit
≥You can also connect to the AV1 or AV2 input terminals on the rear of

the unit.

Before connecting any cables, first make sure that the power for
the unit and the external device are off. Then, after connecting
cables, turn on both.

Note
≥If the audio output of the other equipment is monaural, connect to L/

MONO. (Both left and right channels are recorded when connected
through L/MONO.)

≥The S VIDEO IN terminal achieves a more vivid picture than the

VIDEO IN terminal.

Preparation
≥Select the unit viewing channel (e.g. AV input) on the TV.

DVD

[RAM] [-R] [-RW‹V›] [+R]

≥Release protection (disc

l 28, cartridge l 28). [RAM]

≥Press [DVD].
≥When recording bilingual programmes

[RAM]
When both M 1 and M 2 is selected on the connected equipment, you can select the audio type in playback.
[-R] [-RW‹V›] [+R]
Select either M 1 or M 2 on the connected equipment. (You cannot switch between audio types during playback.)

≥When the output signal from the external equipment is NTSC, change the “TV System” to “NTSC” in the SETUP menu (

l 42).

≥This unit cannot record to discs containing both PAL and NTSC signals.

≥Insert a video cassette with an accidental erasure prevention tab. (

≥Press [VHS].

Press [REC MODE] to select the recording mode.

Follow the above steps 1 to 2.
