Adjustingloudness
Loudness compensates for deficiencies in the
low- and high-sound ranges at low volume.
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select LOUD.
The function name tag LOUD is highlighted.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn loudness
on.
Loudness ON appears in the display.
# To turn loudness off, press MULTI-CONTROL
again.
Usingautomatic sound
levelizer
During driving, noise in the car changes ac-
cording to the driving speed and road condi-
tions. The automatic sound levelizer (ASL)
monitors such varying noise and automati-
cally increases the volume level, ifthis noise
becomes greater. The sensitivity (variation of
volume level to noise level) ofASL can be set
to one offive levels.
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select ASL.
The function name tag ASL is highlighted.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn ASL on.
ASL level (e.g., Mid-Low) appears in the dis-
play.
# To turn ASL off, press MULTI-CONTROL
again.
3 Push MULTI-CONTROL up or down to
select the desired ASL level.
Each pushing MULTI-CONTROL up or down
selects ASL level in the following order:
Low (low)Mid-Low (mid-low)Mid (mid)
Mid-High (mid-high)High (high)
Note
When the ASL mode is turned on and exited, ASL
appears on the display ofeach source.
Adjustingsource levels
SLA (source level adjustment) lets you adjust
the volume level ofeach source to prevent ra-
dical changes in volume when switching be-
tween sources.
! Settings are based on the FM tuner volume
level, which remains unchanged.
1 Compare the FM tuner volume level
with the level of the source you wish to ad-
just.
2 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select SLA.
The function name tag SLA is highlighted.
# When selecting the FM tuner as the source,
you cannot switch to SLA.
3 Push MULTI-CONTROL up or down to
adjust the source volume.
Each pushing MULTI-CONTROL up or down
increases or decreases the source volume.
+4  4 is displayed as the source volume is
increased or decreased.
