Removing the Battery Insulation Strip

To prevent battery drainage during shipping, your
recorder is shipped with an insulation strip that you
must remove before use.

1. Press and rotate the battery compartment

cover counterclockwise to remove it.

2. Remove the insulation strip.
3. Replace the cover and rotate it clockwise to

secure it.

Recording a Message

You can record a message up to 10 seconds long.
The message remains saved even if the recorder
loses battery power.

1. Turn the recorder over and hold the

microphone about two inches (5 cm) away from
your mouth.

2. Hold down REC. The indicator lights and

recording begins.

3. Speak into the microphone and release REC

after you finish. The indicator flashes every
three seconds to indicate a new message is
recorded.

Note: If you do not release REC, the recording
stops automatically after 10 seconds.

Playing a Message

Press the top cover of the recorder to play the
message. The REC indicator turns off.

Using the Magnet

The magnet on the bottom of the recorder holds it
against any metal surface, such as a refrigerator,
oven or file cabinet. Simply place the recorder on a
metal surface to mount it.

Your voice recorder comes with
four 357A button-cell batteries
installed. When the recording
sound weakens, replace the
batteries with the positive side up.

Notes:

• Use only fresh batteries of the

required size and recommended
type.

• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Dispose of old batteries promptly

and properly. Do not burn or bury
them.

• If you do not plan to use the recorder for a month or more, remove the

batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that may destroy electronic parts.
