The battery is not installed or not installed properly in the
handset.

There are unreviewed calls in your call log.

Handset lights
IN USE Flashes when there is an incoming call or another telephone on
the same line is in use.
On when the handset is in use.

VOICEMAIL Flashes when you have new voicemail. Voicemail is offered by
your telephone service provider.

ANS ON/OFF On when the answering system is on. •
On when the handset speakerphone is in use. •
