CD UPSAMPLING

You can convert your music CD to a higher sampling rate using sophisticated digital
signal processing for better sound quality. If you have activated the upsampling, the
DVD player will automatically switch to the stereo mode. (Default: OFF)
OFF:
Disables the CD upsampling function.
88.2kHz (X2):
Converts the sampling rate of the CDs twice higher than original.
176.4kHz (X4):
Converts the sampling rate of the CDs four times higher than original.

NIGHT MODE

You can soften the high volume output and enhance the low volume output to an
audible level. This setting is effective only when a Dolby Digital 2-channel source is
played back. (Default: OFF)
ON:
Enables the night mode.
OFF:
Disables the night mode.

LIP SYNC

You can adjust the delay time (00 to 200 ms) for the sound output in order to

synchronize it with video image. (Press

or

to adjust the delay time and then

press ENTER to confirm adjustment.) (Default: 00 ms)

TV TYPE

You can set the color system of the DVD player according to the TV. (Default: NTSC
for U.S.A. and Canada models, MULTI for Korea model, and PAL for other models)
PAL:
Select this if the TV connected to the DVD player adopts the PAL system.
NTSC:
Select this if the TV connected to the DVD player adopts the NTSC system.
MULTI:
Select this if the TV connected to the DVD player is compatible with both PAL and
NTSC (such as a multi-system TV).

TV DISPLAY

You can set the aspect ratio of the DVD player according to the TV. When the selected
format is not available on the disc, this setting will not affect the disc playback.
(Default: 4:3 PAN SCAN)
4:3 PAN SCAN:
Select this if you have a normal TV and want both sides of the picture to be trimmed
or formatted to fit your TV screen.
4:3 LETTER BOX:
Select this if you have a normal TV. In this case, a wide picture with black bands on
the upper and lower portions of the TV screen will be displayed.
16:9:
Select this if you have a wide-screen TV.

The video settings of your TV also affect the display image. Make sure you configure the video settings of your TV as well as these
settings.

If the picture is distorted on your TV, the color system (NTSC and PAL) setting of the DVD player may not match your TV. To switch

the color system setting in such case, press

and then AUDIO while the disc tray is open.
