IF...

your blood sugar result seems unusually high or low,

AND...

does not reflect the way you feel, check the
following:
• Does the test strip code number match the code

number on the meter?

• Was the blood sample applied to the test strip

within 3 minutes of removing it from the vial?

• Was the size of the blood sample sufficient?
• Was the test strip vial cap tightly sealed?
• Was the test strip used before the expiration date?
• Were the test strips stored away from extreme

temperatures (such as those found inside a car)?

• Were the test strips stored away from areas of high

humidity (such as the kitchen or bathroom)?

THEN...

run a glucose control check with your glucose control
solutions and a new test strip. See

Glucose Control

If the control result is within the

acceptable range, review the proper blood testing
procedure and repeat your test with a new test strip.

Follow the advice of your doctor before you

change your therapy.

IF...

you get a low blood sugar result or LO is displayed,

AND...

you also experience symptoms of low blood sugar:
sweating, trembling, blurred vision, rapid heartbeat,
tingling, or numbness around the mouth or
fingertips,

THEN...

contact your doctor immediately.

If your blood sugar test result still does not reflect
the way you feel, contact your doctor.
