UNIVERSAL D-RING BRACKETS

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WAR 866

NOTE: This kit does not include any mounting hardware. The brackets can be used as bolt on or weld
on application. If you bolt the kit on, you will need to purchase grade 8 bolts and nuts. 1_” to 1_” bolt
length should be good for bolting into a 3/16” to _” surface. The product is designed to use _” hardware,
but openings in the bracket can easily be opened up with a drill bit to accept 9/16” hardware, and you
will find this hardware at any hardware store. We also recommend using flat washers and lock washers
for best results. The pull rating will be equal to the pull rating of the surface you’re mounting it to, and
limited also by the pull rating on the D-Ring Shackle you purchase for it.

Important Update 4-29-2009: If you’ve purchased brackets manufactured before this date, the bracket
will most likely have a hole size designed to fit a shackle with a _” pin. After this date, Warrior has
changed all D-Ring Mounts to accommodate a larger D-Ring with a 7/8” pin. Be sure to verify this
before purchasing your D-Ring Shackles so that you purchase the correct size for your brackets. If you
received a kit with the smaller _” pin size and would like to run the larger one, you can choose to drill
the hole out to 29/32” to fit the larger pin.

Bolt-On Installation:

1. Identify and locate a strong flat surface on your vehicle to mount the brackets to.
2. Carefully position the brackets so they are straight and symmetrical and mark your holes for

drilling. We recommend using a center punch to avoid drill bit wander when starting the
drilling.

3. Begin drilling the hole with a pilot bit sized around _”. Finish with a _” or 9/16” drill bit

depending on the hardware size you’ve chosen.

4. Bolt your brackets into place using the grade 8 hardware you purchased. Tighten _” Grade 8

hardware to 90 lb-ft. 9/16” Grade 8 hardware can be tightened to 130 lb-ft.

Install your Shackle/Clevis into the D-Rings. Your installation is now complete.
