CAUTION:

SHUT OFF POWER TO THE AIR SUSPENSION

PRIOR TO LIFTGING OR JACKING THE VEHICLE. DEFLATE

THE AIR SPRINGS PRIOR TO DISASSEMBLY. DURING ASSEM-

BLY, APPLY GREASE TO O-RING SEALS AND PRESS FIT

RETAINER PINS INTO UPPER MOUNT.

REAR AIR SPRING PAIR

REMOVAL

1. Safely raise and support the vehicle.

2 Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

3. Discharge the remaining air from the strut by carefully removing the

solenoid.

4. Loosen and remove the tie rod to knuckle ball joint.

5. Loosen and remove the strut to body nuts at the top.

6. Remove the shock mount to lower control arm bolt and nut.

7. With all fastners loosened, pull the strut loose from its mounting

position.

DISASSEMBLY

Note the alignment of the air spring and shock before disassembling.

1. Loosen the rod end nut and remove.

2. Turn the assembly upside down and using a flat head screwdriver

depress the securing tabs to dislodge the piston from its position.

3. Remove the shock from the air spring assembly.

4. Pull the retainer pins holding the upper mount to the air spring top

and pry the mount off. If a new mount was purchased you may disre-

gard this step.

ASSEMBLY

1. Clean the reused parts and apply the new o-rings and lubricant.

2. Install the new air spring onto the shock absorber.

3. Install either the reused or new top mount onto the air spring and

firmly seat them together.

4. Secure the rod end nut and the retainer pins into place on the

upper mount.

Reinstall into vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
