INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

CAUTION:

Installation of this product requires detailed knowledge of automotive systems and

repair procedures. We recommend that this installation be carried out by a qualified
automotive technician.

When installing this product, wear eye goggles and other safety apparel as needed to

protect yourself from debris

.

Aeromotive system components are not legal for sale or use on emission controlled motor vehicles.

This product is only intended for use on vehicles equipped with an aftermarket crankcase vacuum pump. These
instructions assume that the vacuum pump is already installed and plumbed into the vehicle.

The following steps are typical of most installations:

1-1. Once the engine has been allowed to cool, disconnect the negative battery cable.

1-2. Remove the inlet fitting from the vacuum pump.

1-3. Both ports on the vacuum regulator are AN-12 ORB ports and air flow through the regulator can be in either direction.

The regulator can be connected directly to an AN-12 ORB vacuum pump inlet port, or in the line between the vacuum
pump inlet and the engine crankcase access port, which is usually located in the engine valve cover. If you decide to
connect the regulator directly to the vacuum pump inlet, we recommend purchasing and installing an Aeromotive AN-
12 ORB Swivel Fitting, Aeromotive part number 15680. This swivel fitting will allow you to connect the regulator
directly to the AN-12 pump inlet port and still swivel the regulator so that the vacuum adjustment is easily accessible.
If you decide to install the regulator in the vacuum pump inlet line, you will need to cut the line and install fittings and
adapters as necessary to connect to the regulator.

1-4. If you wish to connect a vacuum gauge to the regulator, you may do so using the 1/8-27 NPT port located on the side

of the regulator. Make sure you use teflon tape on this connection.

1-5. After installing the regulator and tightening all fittings, reconnect the negative battery cable and start the engine.

1-6. The regulator is adjustable from 8 - 24" Hg vacuum. To adjust the regulator opening vacuum, loosen the adjustment

nut on the top of the regulator and screw the top of the regulator in for more vacuum or out for less vacuum. Retighten
the adjustment nut to lock the adjustment in place.
