1.3 Proprietary Product Description:
1.3.1 Construction: Burke Resilient Corner Guard
Mouldings are manufactured from a homogeneous
composition of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), high quality
additives, and colorants. Standard formulation exceeds
ASTM E 648 Class 1 Flammability requirements. Resilient
Corner Guard Mouldings are designed for interior
applications only.
1.3.2 Physical Characteristics:
691-XXX: 90° angular shaped profile with 2-1/2”
(6.35 cm) long return legs. Legs taper from 7/32”
(5.55 mm) at nose to 3/16” (4.76 mm) at tip.
54” (1.37 m) and 108” (2.74 m) overall lengths. 54” long
product is packaged 6 each (27 ft.) per carton at 18 lbs. and
108” long product is packaged 6 each (54 ft.) per carton at
36 lbs.
693-XXX: 90° angular shaped profile with 3/4”
(19.05 mm) long return legs. Legs are 1/8” (3.17 mm)

3. INSTALLATION
3.1 The installation of Burke Resilient Corner Guard
Mouldings should not begin until the work of all other
trades has been completed, especially overhead trades.
Areas to receive resilient corner guard mouldings shall be
clean, fully enclosed, weather-tight, and maintained at a
uniform temperature of at least 65
°F for 24 hours before,
during, and after the installation is completed. The
Resilient Corner Guard mouldings and adhesives shall be
conditioned in the same manner. The wall surface shall be
smooth, permanently dry, clean and free of all foreign
material, such as dust, paint, grease, oils, solvents, curing
and hardening compounds, sealers, asphalt, and old
adhesive residue. Do not install on exterior surfaces
subject to weather. Resilient Corner Guard Mouldings
shall be rolled, with a J-hand roller, after installation, to
ensure proper bonding.
