ASSUMPTIONS

To perform this procedure, we are assuming you have:

Cirrus Logic – CobraNet Discovery (Disco) Software installed on your PC

Audia SOLO FW Versions – 3.400 and 3.570 (or newer)

Audia Software versions – 3.7 and 5.0 (or newer)

Biamp CobraNet FW versions – 2.9.12 and 2.9.16

GETTING THE CONFIGURATION FILE (.DAP FILE) FROM THE UNIT

1.

Install Audia v3.7

2.

Connect to Audia and get the file out of the box.

3.

SAVE the file somewhere safely.

4.

Make sure the v3.7 version of the .dap file can be opened in the new v5.0 Audia software. Uninstall Audia
v3.7 and install Audia v5.0 (to make it faster, you might have 2 PC’s running the different versions; so you
will not have to install/uninstall/install/uninstall….)

5.

Open Audia v5.0 and open the v3.7 .dap file. If it opens successfully, save it somewhere safe as well. This
is the .dap file we will be loading into the Classic once all the FW updates are complete.

6.

Uninstall Audia v5.0 and re-install Audia v3.7 (reboot)

UPDATING THE COBRANET FIRMWARE

1.

Open Audia v3.7 and connect to Network

2.

Reset / Initialize the unit through device maintenance

3.

While in device maintenance update the firmware to v3.400 (AudiaSOLO_3.400.jam)

4.

Go to C:\Program Files\Cirrus Logic\CobraNet Discovery and open cndisco.ini using the NOTEPAD.

5.

Below the [Configuration] section, add a line with the following text: advanced feature=1

6.

Save and close the notepad

7.

With a crossover CAT5 cable, connect the PC’s Ethernet port to the CobraNet port on the Audia. (If you have
a CobraNet network, you can connect the PC directly to the CobraNet network switch with a straight through
CAT5 cable)

8.

Run the CobraNet Discovery Software, you should see the unit/s pop up in a list.

9.

Right click on the Unit you want to update, and choose “update firmware”

10.

You will be presented with a “Select Firmware Version” dialogue, if there’s nothing in the Compatible
Firmware Versions list, click the checkbox that says “Show all Firmware Versions”

11.

Choose Biamp Audia version 2.9.12, click the update button. It should update and then you will be
prompted to power cycle the unit.

12.

Once the unit is back on line, go back into the CobraNet Discovery software, again you should see the unit
on the list.

13.

Right click on the unit, Update firmware. Now you should see compatible versions without having to click on
“Show all firmware versions”

14.

Choose Biamp Audia version 2.9.16, click the update button. It should update and then you will be
prompted to power cycle the unit.

UPDATING THE AUDIA FIRMWARE

Once Audia v5.0 has been installed, connect to network and go to Perform Device Maintenance
