Pipe Insert Heaters (Dry Well)

Specially designed for heating viscous or corrosive liquids, pipe insert heaters can be replaced without draining the
tank. All Bucan pipe insert heaters incorporate a conservative design approach, use premium quality raw materials and
are made by a highly skilled staff. You can expect top performance and by following these instructions you will benefit
from many years of trouble-free service.

Installation:

1. Only qualified personnel are to install industrial electric heating equipment and must meet all national and local

codes.

2. Ensure the power connections match the voltage, phase and wattage data on the nameplate.
3. Pipe installation is to be capped off inside the tank.
4. Pipe length to be 6 inches (150 mm) minimum, longer than the heater insertion length.
5. Support long pipes are required.
6. Threads or flange surface must be clean, free of burrs and surface damage.
7. Terminal box meets Class 4 (CSA designation), NEMA 4 (UL designation).
8. Multiple heaters to be mounted parallel to one another.
9. Limited space may require multiple rows.
10. At least one heater in your system should have a high limit thermocouple installed

a. This heater should be mounted about 6" higher than the other heaters.

Operation and Maintenance:

1. Before heater energization, ensure the pipes are fully immersed.
2. Inspect and tighten the electrical connections as required.
3. Look for contamination inside terminal enclosure and seal properly to prevent potential leakage.
