Install the Batteries
1. Open the battery cover.
2. Install the batteries according to the
polarity markings on the meter.
3. Close the battery cover.
Turn on the Meter
1. Turn on the meter to set the date
and time.
2. If there is no power, check the
batteries.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to
set the date and time on the meter.
CAUTION
Do not connect the IntelliCAL™ probe
to the HQd Meter until the correct
date and time are set in the meter.
Refer to the meter manual (Cat. No.
HQ40d18) for help with setting the
date and time.
Connect the IntelliCAL™
Probe
1. Align the connectors.
2. Tighten the cap on the probe to
fasten the probe to the meter.
3. Use the color-coded probe clips for
easy identification.
Take a Reading
1. Press the GREEN/RIGHT key.
2. For the most accurate
measurements, calibrate the probe.
