INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY

Caution:

 Always wear safety goggles.

 Handles are not interchangeable. Use only the specified replacement handle for the head being

used. Using the wrong handle can cause the locking system to be damaged and allow the head
to fall off the handle.

1. Cut off old or damaged handle, as close to the hammer as possible, without cutting into the

steel.

2. Drill or chisel out some of the wood from the eye where you just cut the handle off.

3. Use a punch or chisel to drive out the remaining wood and the wedge from the eye.

4. Make sure the eye is clean from all wood chips or debris.

5. Insert the new handle from the same side you cut off the old one and drive it in tight.

6. The handle may need some minor fit adjustment to ensure it seats on the shoulder of the

handle. If this is the case, use a rasp, file or sandpaper to remove some of the wood until the
handle fits tight in the eye and seats completely on the shoulder.

7. Cut off any excess handle that has protruded through the eye and drive in the wedge flush with

the head.
