Overview: Converting IS 2.3 .idt Files to xPONENT
3.1 .lxt Files
When upgrading from the IS 2.3 system to the xPONENT ® 3.1 system, the IS 2.3 (template) .idt
files become incompatible with the next generation xPONENT 3.1 .lxt (protocol) file format.
The following steps provide assistance in converting the IS 2.3 .idt files to xPONENT .lxt files
for use with the xPONENT 3.1 system.
The conversion process utilizes the following three programs on two separate computers:
• IS 2.3
• xCONVERT
• xPONENT 3.1
Prior to starting the conversion process, verify that these three software components are
installed and operational.
NOTE: There are several components that are valid in an IS 2.3 .idt file that
are not valid in an xPONENT 3.1 .lxt file. xPONENT 3.1 components
must be removed from the IS 2.3 .idt file prior to exporting the file
from the IS 2.3 system as they contain unsupported commands.
To edit the IS 2.3 .idt file, open the desired IS 2.3 .idt file, perform the edits, and then save
the edits to a different .idt file name. For additional information, refer to the "Edit a Used
Template" section within the Luminex 100 IS Developer Workbench Guide Ver. 2.3.
NOTE: In the IS 2.3 .idt files, the version number must not exceed the four
digit maximum.
