Calibrate your system at least once a week using the Calibration/Verification button on the
Auto Maint tab of the Maintenance page. In addition, recalibrate the system if:

• The delta calibration temperature exceeds ± 5° C.

• You move the instrument.

• You experience sample acquisition problems.

Verify the system daily using the Performance Verification button on the Auto Maint tab of
the Maintenance page. Refer to your assay kit instructions for additional calibration
frequency requirements.

Before you can calibrate the system, you must import MagPix calibrator and verification bead
lot information. This information is available on the CD that accompanies the Performance
Verification Kit and Calibration Kit, and is also available on the Luminex website at

NOTE: Do not move the system waste line while calibrating the system.

Adding or Importing CAL and VER Kit Information

You can add CAL and VER Kit information from the Home page or from the Maintenance
page.

1. To add or import CAL and VER kit information from the Home page:

a. On the Home page, click System Initialization.

b. Click Import Kit at the bottom right side of the window. The Import Calibration or

Performance Kit dialog box opens.

c. Locate the MagPix calibrator or verifier kit information file and click Open.

2. To add or import kits from the Maintenance page:

a. Open the Maintenance page, then open the Lot Management tab.

b. Click Import Kit. The Import Calibration or Performance Kit dialog box opens.

c. Select the MagPix calibrator or verification information file you want to import, then

click Open.

Setting Up the System Initialization Routine

You can set up the system initialization routine to include calibration and verification under
the Admin page, System Setup tab, Maintenance Options section.
