Installation Instructions for One-Piece Oil Pan Gasket
for Chevrolet V-8 454, 502 1991-99 #6664G
This high-temperature, one-piece Oil Pan Gasket was designed to make the job of installing an oil pan
gasket easier. To minimize the possibility of leaks, the following steps should be taken:
1. The oil pan and engine block must be clean and free of all dirt, oil and old gasket material.
2. Both oil pan and engine block must be checked for flatness.
3. All bolts and bolt holes must be checked to ensure against thread damage. If damage has occurred,
repair as needed.
4. Be sure the tabs on the gasket are installed properly in the block cavity. Use a small amount of Mr.
Gasket Blue RTV Silicone Sealant #7808 on four corners of the plastic carrier to secure the gasket
placement during installation.
5. Refer to the engine manufacturer’s specifications for fastener torque value and sequence.
