9.4 Event Historian

Event messages which have been stored in the Historical Database can be displayed in the Operator
Window. The Historical Database can store the last 10,000 event messages that occurred on the system.

9.4.1 Accessing the Event Historian

To access the Event Historian display, click Select > Event Historian. The Event Historian window
(

Figure 9-4

) will appear.

A Filter option appears on the menu bar of the Event Historian display. The label on this option indicates
whether entries displayed in the Event Historian window have been filtered. If all event messages will be
displayed, the menu option reads Filter. If some events will not be displayed, the label reads Filtered.

Click on this menu option to display a window containing a user interface. This window contains options
which can be used to filter event messages. If additional filtering options are applied to the Event Historian
using this window, the label reads L-Filtered.

One Event is shown per line, and the total number of lines available is determined by the size of the Oper-
ator Window in which they are displayed.

Events of different Classes and Types in the Event Historian display can appear in different colors,
depending on how Message Routing (described in the Micro-PWC Configuration Guide) has been config-
ured. This feature allows you to quickly locate messages of a particular Class and Type.

The events in the Event Historian display are shown in decreasing time order; that is, newer events appear
above older events.

9.4.2 Scrolling the Event Historian

When the Event Historian display contains more data than can be viewed on the screen, a scroll bar on the
right side of the display provides access to the additional data. Scroll down to view the older events and
scroll up to view the newer events. Use the
