Micro-PWC Features 23

If the attempt is unsuccessful, a pop-up dialog will prompt:

!Login failure.

Try again?

Click OK to close the window and return to the Micro-PWC login window.

The initial displays assigned in the user’s login configuration are placed on the CRT assigned to the key-
board used for the login operation. The Quick Keys (see

Section 11.11, Quick Keys

) and CRT Context

Keys (see

Section 11.12, CRT Context Keys

) assigned in the user’s login configuration are available to the

user. The user’s name is displayed in the title bar of the Mini-Alarm Window.

A user can log in on a terminal which already has an active login on it. This action causes the previous
user to be logged out. If the new user has defined an initial CRT context (i.e., CRT Login Context Key), the
CRT will display this new environment. If no initial CRT Context has been defined, the displays on the CRT
remain unchanged.

3.2.3 Logging Out

When a user logs out of a Micro-PWC, the following actions take place only on the CRT assigned to the
keyboard from which the user is logging out:

The security access level, Quick Keys and CRT Context Keys change to those defined for the
Default user.

The user name in the title bar of the Mini-Alarm Window changes to Default.

The Login Context changes to that of the Default user, and the login parameters will change to
those of the Default user. (In other words, when an actual user logs out, the Micro-PWC
returns to the Default login state; it is as if the Default user had logged in.)

The log out procedure is similar to that used to log in. To log out, from the System Window click Menu >
User > Log Out. The current user will be logged out.

3.2.4 Show Users Option

The Show Users option provides a list of all Micro-PWC users logged on at any one time. Click Menu >
User > Show Users
to view a display containing this information. This option is described in detail in

Sec-

tion 2.4.7, Show Users and Screen Contents

.

NOTE

It is possible to configure a user login account which is restricted
from using specified systems. If login on a Micro-PWC is denied,
the user account may be restricted from using it. Ask your system
administrator for details on Micro-PWC availability from that login
account.

NOTE

If security is activated on the system, and a user’s login account is
configured to filter out (exclude) messages from one or more
process areas, then that login account cannot be used to perform
operations on the process areas for which message filtering has
been applied. Questions on how message filtering is configured on
the system, and specifically for this account, should be directed to
the system administrator. Configuration of these items is discussed
in the Micro-PWC Configuration Guide.
