8.3.4 Filtering Alarms in the Mini-Alarm Window

The Filter button is located at the right end of the title bar of the Mini-Alarm Window. The label displayed
on the face of this button indicates whether alarms displayed in the Mini-Alarm Window have been filtered.

If all alarms will be displayed, the face of the button will display the word Filter. If some alarms will not be
displayed, due to the label reads Filtered.

Click this button to display a pop-up window containing a user interface. This window contains options
which can be used to filter process alarms by Priority and Area. If additional filtering options are applied to
the Mini-Alarm Window using this pop-up window, the label reads L-Filtered.

The main display area of this window is divided in two portions, the left side is labelled Message Class, and
contains buttons which display the available Message Class names. The right side of the display contains
a list box, which lists the Message Types available for the selected Message Class. Filtering is accom-
plished as described in

Section 8.4.3, Filtering Alarms

.

NOTE

Setting the filter option Alarm Acknowledged on the Mini-Alarm filter
will not remove alarms that are acknowledged from the displayed
list. The same is true for Alarm Review displays. This is not the
purpose of the Alarm Acknowledged filter. There is a specific type
of alarm message in the Process Alarm class which is generated
when a controller receives and processes an acknowledge request.
Those messages are the Acknowledge messages that will be
filtered by the Filter option.
