Congratulations!

You now own one of the best water timers available. With
more than 60 years of experience, Melnor has a full line of
innovative, high-quality watering tools. Look for Melnor for all
your watering needs.

Your AquaTimer Duo offers two watering outlets, one timed,
the other untimed. The timed outlet is intended to handle
your daily watering chores. With the second outlet, you can
wash the car or handle any other watering need without
disturbing your timed setup.

This timer also features the ability to manually control the
Timed Outlet, offering you complete flexibility.

Note: Remove the protective film from the display.

Installing the Battery

1. Open the battery cover by removing the two screws.

2. Install one new 9-volt battery (not included) with terminals

down and in the position shown.

3. Replace the battery cover and re-secure with the screws.

Now your timer is on and ready for you to begin
programming it.

Additional Battery Information

A good quality, fresh battery should last one watering season.

Replace the battery at the beginning of each watering season.

Remove the battery when the timer is not in use for an
extended period of time.

Attaching the Timer to the Faucet

You may wish to program your timer before you attach it to
the faucet.

Be certain the Untimed Outlet is in the Off position and then
twist the top nut onto the faucet outlet. Tighten firmly, but do
not overtighten. Once the timer is attached, turn on the faucet
and leave it on.

Notes on Using the Control Panel

You will use the buttons on the control panel to program the
unit. The (-) and (+) buttons will be referred to as the Minus
and Plus buttons.

When words or numbers blink on the screen, your input
is required.

The screen will shut off after about four minutes of button
inactivity. You may “wake” the unit at any time by pressing
the Menu, Enter or Manual On/Off button.

While you are setting the unit, if you wish to start over or clear
what you have input, simply press the Menu button and
begin again.

After you have programmed your timer, when you press
Menu, the screen will display Current Time and Day and show
whether the watering Program is On or Off. The Stop and
Start Times will display only when the unit is in a watering
cycle (actually watering), either programmed or manually.

Note: You can program your timer while it is on or off the
faucet. It may be easier to set the unit before you attach it.

Setting Time and Day of the Week

After you insert the battery, Current Time and Day appear.
The screen shows the time as “12:00 PM S” (Sunday). It
shows the watering Program is Off.

The hour blinks. Use the Minus or Plus button to choose the
current hour. Please be certain you enter the right time of day
(AM/PM). When you reach the correct hour, press Enter.

Now the minutes blink. Use the Minus or Plus button to
choose the current minute(s). When you reach the correct
minute(s), press Enter.

Now the letter “S” blinks for Sunday. Use the Minus or Plus
buttons to choose the current day of the week. When you
reach the correct day, press Enter.

Setting a Watering Program

Think about your watering needs. How often do you want
to water? For how long? When is the best time to water?
With this timer, you can water daily, every other day, or on a
completely flexible schedule. It may be helpful to write down
a schedule before you begin this phase of programming the
timer. Remember, the maximum length of any one watering
cycle is three hours.

Press Menu. Program blinks. Press Enter. Watering Days
appears. Every Day blinks. You now have three choices.
Using the Minus and Plus buttons, you may choose Every
Day, Every Other Day or Independent Days and Times.
