Power Monitor Alarm

Introduction

The power monitor alarm is designed to alert the manager immediately if power should fail. Other alarm systems have some sort
of delay time where the alarm waits for power to come back on, whereas this system is instantaneous.

Description

The power monitor alarm is a simple unit consisting of a battery, charger, relay, and siren. The unit is wired directly to the breaker
panel as shown in the diagram below. Under normal circumstances, the battery is kept at full charge, and incoming power holds
the relay open. However, when power is lost the relay closes, and the alarm sounds with power from the battery. If power comes
back on, the alarm will shut off.
The unit has only one control--an on/off switch. If the switch is in the on position, the alarm may sound. If the switch is in the off
position, the alarm is silenced. An indicator light on the front of the box will be lit whenever power is applied to the box.
