INSTRUCTIONS FOR

TELE VUE GIBRALTAR UPGRADE KIT

Product Code GUK-1001

The Gibraltar Upgrade Kit allows you to use your Tele-Pod Head on original style Gibraltar tripods
(ash AGM-1014 or walnut WGM-1013).

PARTS LIST

• 1/4-20 x 7/8" steel set screw

• 3/8-16 x 3" threaded stud with slotted end

• machined aluminum bushing

• 1/8" Allen wrench

• machined aluminum washer

• 5/64" Allen wrench

• lock knob

• 8-32 x ½” black set screw

•Vibration Suppression Disc

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES (refer to diagram below)

1.

Remove the azimuth tension knob from the Gibraltar tripod top and replace it with the 1/4-20 x 7/8" steel
set screw. Do not tighten yet.

2.

Thread the 3/8-16 x 3" threaded stud into the hole in the bottom of the Tele-Pod head and use a screw
driver in the slotted end to tighten it

3.

Carefully peel the paper from the vibration suppression disc, slide it down the stud, and stick it to the
bottom of the lower bearing plate.

4.

Use the 5/64" Allen wrench to remove the set screw from the lower hole in the side of the azimuth
bearing bottom disc of the Tele-Pod Head and replace it with the small black set screw

5.

Tighten the small black set screw to secure the 3/8-16 x 3" stud in the azimuth disc

6.

Tap out the plastic bushing from the underside of the tripod and replace it with the aluminum bushing (the
undercut on the aluminum bushing should be on top)

7.

Position the aluminum bushing so its top surface is flush with the top of the tripod

8.

Secure the aluminum bushing by using the 1/8" Allen wrench to tighten the 1/4-20 x 7/8" set screw

9.

Fit the 3/8-16 x 3" threaded stud on the Tele-Pod Head into the hole in the aluminum bushing

10.

Press fit the lock knob into the aluminum washer

11.

Tighten the lock knob / washer onto the threaded stud
