Password—Password for the user account.

User Name for selected device—Account to log into the selected array. This account must
be manage-level and have FTP permissions enabled.

Password for selected device—Password to log in to the selected array.

Max Size for Archive Files—The maximum allowable size of the log file. When the log file
limit is reached, the oldest entries are automatically deleted from the file. Enter the size in
MB. The default value is 256 MB.
View Log Files—Displays the directory containing the log files for the device selected in the
Discovered devices navigation tree.

In Windows environments: <%system drive%>\hp\msa\MSALogs\

In Linux environments: /var/log/hp/msa/msalogs
Stop Log Collection—Cancels the scheduled OS task for the device selected in the Discovered
devices navigation tree.

In Linux environments: Deletes all cron tabs created.
Create Virtual Interface—Performs a discovery on the IP addresses of 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.3 on
the host system on which the MSA Device Discovery Tool is running. Because MSA storage devices
ship with default IP address of either 10.0.0.2 or 10.0.0.3, you can use this task to discover
connected, but unconfigured, MSA devices.
IMPORTANT: Perform this task only during a scheduled maintenance window. During this
task, the host IP address is temporarily changed to 10.0.0.10 and all existing network
connections to the host are lost. In addition, discovered MSA devices are automatically restarted
during this process.
To enable creation of the virtual interface in Windows environments, you must enable the
Routing and Remote Access Service. Locate and enable this service under Control Panel >
Administrative Tools > Services.
