Conditions of volumes that can be migrated (Legacy mode)

Before migrating data, perform or confirm the following:

The emulation type, number of blocks, and size are the same for the source and target migration
volumes. However, note the following exceptions:

1.

If the micro version of XP24000/XP20000 is 60-03-20-00/00-xx or later and if both the migration
source and the migration target volumes are THP/Smart volumes, the emulation type can be
between OPEN-V and OPEN-0V.

2.

If a volume whose emulation type is OPEN-V is a normal volume, and if the size of a migration
target volume is larger than a migration-source volume, a volume that has the same size of the
migration-source volume is re-created. The remaining capacity can be reused. If you use the
server properties, you can specify how many volumes with a larger capacity than the migration
source volume to display, in addition to the volumes with the same capacity as the migration
source volume.

The LDKC:CU:LDEV number for the volume is in the range from 00:00:00 to 00:FF:FF

You can access the volumes and they are not reserved by other programs or tasks.

The emulation type is other than OPEN-V and both the migration source and the migration target
volumes are normal or both are CVS volumes.

Neither the migration source volume nor the migration target volume is an On-Demand device.

Volumes are not intermediate volumes.

Nothing is displayed in the Migration Restrictions section of the volume detailed information area.
However, if (target) is displayed at the end of the character string, the volume can be a migration
source volume.

Conditions of volumes that cannot be migrated (Legacy Mode)

The following volumes cannot be sources or targets of migration:

Cross-system copy-pair volumes.

Volumes configured for XRC. Note that a volume in a suspended status can be a source volume,
but not a target volume.

Volumes configured for concurrent copying.

The migration source volume is configured as a Continuous Access Software pair or Hitachi
TrueCopy for Mainframe pair, and the migration target is an external storage system.

Volumes that are part of a Continuous Access Synchronous pair, Hitachi TrueCopy for Mainframe
pair, Continuous Access Journal, or Hitachi Universal Replicator for Mainframe pair, and the CLPRs
(cache logical partitions) of the migration target and migration-source volumes are different.

Quorum disks used for External Storage Access Manager.

The P-VOL and S-VOL of an External Storage Access Manager pair.

Smart volumes to which a data placement profile is applied.
