Charging the battery and turning your camera on
Charging using the USB extension cable
Insert the USB extension cable into the built-in USB plug, and
plug the other end of the connector into the USB port of the
computer.
• It is recommended that you use a USB extension cable, which
is an optional component, depending on the USB connection
environment.
• When charging the battery by connecting the USB extension cable
to the computer, charging may take longer.
Charging the battery
Before using the camera for the first time, you must charge the
battery.
Charging using the built-in USB plug
To open the built-in USB plug,
push the USB lock lever at the
bottom of the camera in the
direction of the arrow.
Insert the built-in USB plug of
the camera into the USB port
of the computer.
Indicator light

Red: Charging
• Off: Fully charged
