Charging the Battery

The power-on lamp slowly blinks orange while the battery inserted into the camera is charging (

Using a Card Reader

The pictures stored on the memory card inserted into a card reader or similar device can also be
transferred to the computer using Nikon Transfer.
If the memory card has a capacity greater than 2 GB, or is SDHC-compliant, the intended device

must support these features of the memory card.

Insert a memory card into the card reader or similar device, and refer to steps 4 and 5 (A 128) to

transfer pictures.

To transfer pictures stored in the camera’s internal memory to the computer, the pictures must

first be copied to a memory card using the camera (

A 156).

Starting Nikon Transfer or ViewNX Manually

Windows
Choose Start menu>All Programs>Nikon Transfer>Nikon Transfer (or All Programs>
ViewNX>ViewNX).
Double-clicking the Nikon Transfer or ViewNX shortcut icon on the desktop will also start Nikon
Transfer or ViewNX.

Mac OS X
Open Applications and double-click Nikon Software>Nikon Transfer>Nikon Transfer (or
Nikon Software>ViewNX>ViewNX).
Clicking the Nikon Transfer or ViewNX icon on the Dock will also start Nikon Transfer or ViewNX.

Panorama Creation with Panorama Maker

Use a series of pictures taken in Panorama assist scene mode (A 44) to create a single

panorama photo with Panorama Maker.

Panorama Maker can be installed on a computer using the supplied Software Suite CD.
After installation is complete, follow the procedure described below to start Panorama Maker.

Windows
Choose Start menu>All Programs>ArcSoft Panorama Maker 4>Panorama Maker 4.

Macintosh
Open Applications and double-click the Panorama Maker 4 icon.
