r Image Size

Choose the size of pictures in pixels for recording.
Pictures shot at smaller sizes require less memory, making them suited to
distribution by e-mail or the web.
Conversely, the larger the image, the larger the size at which it can be printed or
displayed without becoming noticeably “grainy,” limiting the number of pictures
that can be recorded.

The icon for the current setting is displayed in the monitor in shooting and playback
modes (

A8 to 10).

Notes on the Image Size Setting

Changes made to the image size setting apply to all shooting modes (except for sport continuous

mode and shooting mode

M).

For sport continuous mode, the image size is fixed to B 1600×1200 or A 1280×960 (

A64).

This feature cannot be used simultaneously with certain features. See “Functions that Cannot be

Applied Simultaneously” (

A96) for more information.
