First Steps

Charge the Battery

The camera is powered by an EN-EL9a rechargeable Li-ion battery (supplied). To
maximize shooting time, charge the battery in the supplied MH-23 quick charger
before use. About one hour and forty minutes are required to fully recharge the
battery when no charge remains.

Plug the charger in.

Insert the AC adapter plug into the battery
charger and plug the power cable into an
electrical outlet.

Remove the terminal cover.

Remove the terminal cover from the battery.

Insert the battery.

Insert the battery as shown in the illustration on
the charger. The CHARGE lamp will blink while the
battery charges.

Remove the battery when charging is
complete.

Charging is complete when the CHARGE lamp
stops blinking. Remove the battery and unplug
the charger.
