Drip-proof packing

Do not remove or apply grease to the drip-proof packing. If the packing rises up or

is nipped, this may result in water leaks.

If the drip-proof packing comes off, refit it carefully so that it is not twisted. (See

illustration )
O-ring and drip-proof packing serviceable life

O-ring

The serviceable life of the O-ring varies with frequency of use of this unit and

conditions. Generally, it is about one year.
Drip-proof packing

Replace the drip-proof packing with a new one if you find scratches or cracks on it.
After replacing, check that no water leaks in.
Grease

Use the grease in the blue tube (supplied). Using the grease in the yellow tube or

other manufacturer’s grease will damage the O-ring, and cause water leaks.

You can obtain the O-ring, drip-proof packing, grease and desiccant at the nearest

Sony dealer.

Maintenance

After recording in a location with a sea breeze, wash this unit thoroughly in fresh

water with the buckles fastened to remove salt and sand, then wipe with a soft dry

cloth. It is recommended that you submerge this unit in fresh water for about 30

minutes. If it is left with salt on it, metal portions may be damaged or rust may

form and cause water leakage.

If sun oil is on this unit, be sure to wash it off thoroughly using lukewarm water.

Wipe the inside of this unit with a soft dry cloth. Do not wash it with water.

Be sure to perform the above maintenance each time you use this unit.

Do not use any type of solvent such as alcohol, benzine or thinner for cleaning, as

this might damage the surface finish of this unit.
When storing this unit

Attach the spacer supplied with this unit to prevent wear of the O-ring. (See

illustration )

Prevent dust from collecting on the O-ring.

Lightly coat the O-ring with grease and insert it into the seating groove, then store

this unit in a cool, well-ventilated location. Do not fasten the buckle.

Avoid storing this unit in a cold, very hot or humid place, or together with

naphthalene or camphor, as these conditions might damage this unit.

Before making a dive

Before recording images underwater, first take this unit to a depth of about 1 m

(3.3 feet) and check that it operates properly and that there are no leaks, then

commence your dive.

Install the camera in this unit before diving, and avoid opening and closing this

unit while on board boats or at the seashore as much as possible. When installing

the camera, do it in a place that has as low a humidity as possible.

Before using this unit, make sure that no debris has been caught between the front

and back halves of this unit’s body.

Before using this unit, always check the number of recordable images and

remaining battery life.

We recommend that you use

(Underwater) for underwater still image

recording,

(Underwater iSweep Panorama) for underwater sweep panorama

image recording, or

(Underwater) for underwater movie recording.

Times that are suited for recording

The most suitable time for recording images is between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM,

when the sun is directly overhead.

Preparation

Preparing the O-ring and drip-proof packing

1 Remove the O-ring attached to this unit.

2 Coat the O-ring with grease.

Clean off any sand or dirt on the O-ring, in the seating groove, or on this unit’s

body where it touches the O-ring. Coat the O-ring with a light, even layer of

grease.

3 Attach the O-ring to this unit.

4 Check the drip-proof packing for any sand or dirt.
Notes

Do not remove or apply grease to the drip-proof packing.

This unit’s body may be scratched or water may leak if the cover is closed with

sand or dirt on the O-ring or drip-proof packing.

Be sure to read the separate O-ring Maintenance Manual.

Important details regarding handling of the O-ring are described in this

manual.

Preparing the camera

When using the camera installed in this unit, you need to set the

Housing setting to “On” on the camera. For details on the Housing

setting, see step 4 below.

Install the camera in this unit in a room with low-humidity or a similar

environment. Opening or closing this unit in hot or humid locations

may result in fogging of the front glass.

Wipe any water off the camera and dry it thoroughly before installing

it in this unit.

Also refer to the operating instructions and Cyber-shot User Guide (on the CD-

ROM) supplied with the camera.

1 Remove the strap from the camera.

2 Insert the battery pack and memory card.

Be sure to use a fully charged battery pack.

Be sure that the memory card has enough space to record images.

3 Lower the lens cover to turn on the power of the camera.

Be careful not to touch the lens when lowering the lens cover.

4 Set the Housing setting to “On.”

Check that the Housing setting is set to “On.”

How to set Housing

After the Housing setting is set to “On

,” camera functions are limited. Only the

usable functions of the selected shooting mode are displayed. Set as needed.

After installing the camera in this unit, the MENU button is disabled.

(Functions such as Burst mode cannot be operated after installing)

5 Check the camera’s lens and LCD screen for any dirt.
Notes

It is recommended that you set the underwater white balance to “Auto.”

When setting to Burst mode, do so before attaching the camera to this unit.

Images recorded in burst mode can be deleted using the procedure in the “

Playback” table.

The AF Illuminator cannot be used with this unit. When the Housing setting is set

to “On,” the AF Illuminator is automatically set to “Off” and cannot be used.

When the Housing setting is set to “On”, you cannot use the paint pen supplied

with the camera.

 Installing the camera in this unit

1 Open this unit. (-1)

Slide the OPEN button  while pressing the unlock button .

Release the buckle in the direction of the arrow  to open this unit.

Notes

Take care not to lose the spacer as you will need it to store this unit.

2 Put the supplied desiccant in this unit.

Place the desiccant into the front body desiccant space in this unit. Then hold

the desiccant at the  part on the front attachment. Insert the desiccant all the

way to the right and left as illustrated. (-2)

* Place the supplied desiccant in this unit one or two hours before shooting.

3 Press the ON/OFF (Power) button to turn off the camera.

4 Install the camera in this unit. (-4)

Keep the lens cover of the camera lowered. Closing this unit by force while

the lens cover is closed may cause a malfunction.

Always be sure to turn off the power when installing or removing the

camera.

Check that the camera is placed correctly.

5 Close this unit’s body and fasten the buckle. (-5)

Secure this unit’s body, and fasten the buckles until the top and bottom latches

catch.
Notes

When closing this unit’s body, make sure that there is no debris, sand,

hair or any other foreign matter on the O-ring or in the seating groove.

Water leakage may result if any foreign matter is caught in these places.

We recommend attaching the hand strap (supplied) before using this unit. (See

How to attach (-)

1 Attach the supplied strap of the LCD hood to this unit.

2 Align the LCD hood with the attachment guide and press it firmly as

illustrated.

How to detach (-)

Spread the LCD hood and detach it from the guide.
Notes

Be careful not to pinch the hand strap or the accessory strap when you close this

unit body. A water leak may develop if they are caught in the body.

Using this unit

 Recording

1 Turn on the power. (-1)

2 Change the camera settings for recording.

Press buttons 1, 2 or 3 of this unit to change the camera settings to suit your

recording.

Operating buttons 1, 2 and 3

Press each button slowly.

The result of your operation is displayed in the screen when you release the button.

The icons to the left of the button disappear a few seconds later.

The present settings are displayed next to each button. (-2)

To change to the next mode, press and release the same button again while the

present setting is displayed.

The mode switches to the next one, and the icon indicating the newly set mode is

displayed in the center of the screen and to the left of the button.

(The icon in the center of the screen appears only when modes are switched.)

Repeat  and  until you find the mode you want.

You can keep switching mode by pressing the same button while the icon is

displayed. (-2)

Notes

This unit may not work correctly if you press buttons or levers while this unit

is being turned on or immediately after it is turned on. Wait a few seconds after

the display on the LCD screen appears completely before pressing buttons or

levers.

If you keep pressing button 1 to switch the mode, the icon is only displayed at

the center of the screen when

(iSweep Panorama) or

(Intelligent Auto)

is selected. This is not a malfunction. Simply continue operating.

3 Record images.

Still images:

Press the shutter lever to record images. (-3-a)

iSweep panorama images:

Press the shutter lever to record images. (-3-a)

Movie:

Press the button 2 to record images. (-3-b)

To start movie recording

Press and release the button 2, then press and release the same button again

while

(MOVIE) is displayed.

“REC” appears at the top center of the screen.

To stop movie recording

Press and release the button 2, then press and release the same button again

while

(STOP) is displayed.

“Standby” appears at the top center of the screen.

Press the shutter lever to record still images while recording movies. (-3-a)

Use the zoom (See illustration )

Keep pressing the T button for telephoto. (Subject appears closer.)

Keep pressing the W button for wide-angle. (Subject appears farther away.)
Notes

If you do not record any images for a certain time, the camera turns off

automatically to prevent the battery pack from running out. To use the camera

again, turn on the power again.

When the camera overheats, it may automatically turn off or recording may

malfunction. To use the camera again, leave it in the cool place for a while to cool

down.

When using a flash with this unit attached, the effective flash range is reduced and

images tend to be darker overall, so the shooting distance may be greatly reduced

in some environments (pitch dark, etc.). In such conditions, it is recommended

that you use an external underwater light as well as the flash.

If you use the flash underwater, the flash light may be reflected by particles in the

water and appear in the image as circles of light.

Reflected glare may occur depending on the shooting condition. If this happens,

change the condition.

Dust or debris on the glass surface inside this unit may be focused on in the

camera’s Close fucus enabled mode. In that event, remove the dust or debris on

the glass surface.

While you are recording movies, audio cannot be recorded correctly.

 Playback

You can play back images using the (Playback) button. You cannot hear the

sound.

1 Turn on the power.

2 Press the (Playback) button. (-2)

3 Select the desired image by pressing the button 1 or 2.

Notes

If images on a memory card are recorded or shot by other cameras, you may need

to change the camera setting to play them back. For details, refer to the operating

instructions and Cyber-shot User Guide (on CD-ROM) supplied with the camera.

During playback in

(iSweep Panorama) or

(Underwater iSweep

Panorama), button operation is the same as for still images.

 Removing the camera

1 Turn off the power. (-1)

Be sure to turn off the power whenever installing or removing the

camera.

2 Rinse this unit with tap water or fresh water and then wipe the water

off with a soft cloth.

When opening this unit, be careful not to let any water from your body, hair or

wetsuit cuffs drip onto the camera.

3 Open this unit.

4 Press the camera upwards to raise it and remove it from the unit.

When the camera has been used for a long time, the camera heats up. Turn off

the power and leave for a while to cool down before removing the camera from

this unit.

Be careful not to drop the camera when removing it.

Main Feature

Useable at a depth of up to 40 m (132 feet) underwater.

This Marine Pack MPK-THK (referred to below as “

this unit”) is exclusively for

use with the Sony Digital Still Camera (referred to below as “camera”) DSC-

TX10. (Not all cameras are available in all countries or regions.)

This unit is waterproof so the camera can be used in the rain, snow, at the beach,

or underwater.

Using this unit with the camera setting to

(Underwater),

(Underwater

iSweep Panorama) or

(Underwater) will enable you to record beautiful

underwater images.

Precautions

For the kinds of memory card (“Memory Stick Duo” media, SD card) compatible

with your camera, refer to the camera’s operating instructions.

When using this unit while diving, be sure to pay attention to the surrounding

situation. Lack of attention may cause an accident while diving.

In case a water leakage is occurred, be sure to pay attention to the surrounding

situation and surface following the safety rules for diving.

Do not subject the front glass to strong shock, as it may crack.

Avoid opening this unit at the beach or on the water. Preparation such as

installing the camera and changing the memory card should be done in a place

with low humidity and no salty air.

Do not throw this unit into the water.

Avoid using this unit in places with strong waves.

Avoid using this unit under the following situations:

in a very hot or humid place.

in water hotter than 40 ˚C (104 ˚F).

at temperatures lower than 0 ˚C (32 ˚F).

In these situations moisture condensation or water leakage may occur and damage

this unit.

Use this unit for no longer than 30 minutes at a time in temperatures above 35 ˚C

(95 ˚F).

Do not leave this unit under direct sunlight in a very hot and humid place for a

long period of time. If you cannot avoid leaving this unit under direct sunlight, be

sure to cover this unit with a towel or other protection.

The camera heats up if it is used inside this unit for a long time. Before removing

the camera from this unit, leave this unit in the shade or other cool place for a

while to cool down.

When the camera overheats, it may automatically turn off or recording may

malfunction. To use the camera again, leave it in the cool place for a while to cool

down.

Use the supplied spacer to keep this unit open if you take it onboard a plane.

If it is shut tight, changes in cabin pressure may make it difficult to open. It

is recommended that you take this unit onto a plane in the state shown in

illustration .

A loose or nipped O-ring, sand or dirt on the O-ring may cause water leaks

under water.

Be sure to check the O-ring before use.

For details, read the O-ring Maintenance Manual.

If sun oil is on this unit, be sure to wash it off thoroughly using lukewarm

water. If this unit is left with sun oil on its body, the surface of this unit may

become discolored or damaged (such as cracks on the surface).

Water leakage

If water happens to leak in, stop exposing this unit to water immediately.

If the camera gets wet, take it to the nearest Sony dealer immediately. Repair costs

must be borne by the customer.
Anti-fogging of the front glass

Install the camera in this unit in a room with low-humidity or a similar

environment.

Place the desiccant inside this unit one or two hours before shooting.

Store the unused desiccant in its original bag and keep the bag firmly closed. By

adequately drying the desiccant, it can be used about 200 times.

Before use

Wipe any water off the camera and dry it thoroughly before installing it in this

unit.

Be sure to test shooting with this unit and check that the images are played

back properly before recording or shooting.

Before using the camera underwater, first take this unit to a depth of about

1 m (3.3 feet) and check that the camera is operating properly and that this

unit is not leaking, then commence your dive.

In the unlikely event that a malfunction of this unit causes damage due to

water leakage, Sony does not guarantee against damages to the equipment

contained in it (camera, battery pack, etc.) and the recorded contents, nor

expenses entailed in the photography.

O-ring and Drip-proof packing

O-ring

This unit uses an O-ring to maintain its water resistance. For details, refer to the

separate O-ring Maintenance Manual.

Improper handling of the O-ring can result in water leakage.



Ce caisson étanche MPK-THK (appelé ci-dessous «

ce boîtier ») est destiné à être

utilisé exclusivement avec l’appareil numérique Sony (appelé ci-dessous

« l’appareil photo ») DSC-TX10. (Tous ces appareils photos numériques ne sont

pas disponibles dans tous les pays ou toutes les régions.)

Ce boîtier permet d’utiliser l’appareil photo sous la pluie ou la neige, sur la plage

ou sous l’eau.

Vous pourrez faire des prises de vue magnifiques sous l’eau si vous utilisez ce

boîtier avec l’appareil photo réglé sur (Sous l’eau),

(iPanor. par balayage

sous l’eau) ou

(Sous l’eau).

Précautions

Pour les types de cartes mémoire (« Memory Stick Duo », carte SD) compatibles

avec votre appareil photo, reportez-vous au mode d’emploi de l’appareil photo.

Si vous utilisez ce boîtier pendant la plongée, faites attention à votre

environnement. Un manque d’attention peut causer un accident pendant la

plongée.

Si de l’eau devait pénétrer dans ce boîtier, faites attention à votre environnement et

remontez à la surface en respectant les règles de sécurité propres à la plongée.

Ne soumettez pas la vitre avant à des chocs trop forts, car elle pourrait se briser.

Evitez d’ouvrir ce boîtier sur la plage ou sur l’eau. Les préparatifs, tels que la mise

en place de l’appareil photo et le remplacement de la carte mémoire doivent être

effectués à l’abri de l’humidité et de l’air salin.

Ne pas jeter ce boîtier dans l’eau.

Evitez d’utiliser ce boîtier aux endroits exposés à de fortes vagues.

Evitez d’utiliser ce boîtier dans les situations suivantes :

à un endroit très chaud ou humide ;

dans une eau à plus de 40˚C (104 ˚F) ;

à des températures inférieures à 0˚C (32 ˚F).

Dans de telles situations, ce boîtier peut être endommagé par la condensation

d’humidité ou les infiltrations d’eau.

Ne pas utiliser ce boîtier pendant plus de 30 minutes à une température

supérieure à 35˚C (95 ˚F).

Ne pas laisser ce boîtier en plein soleil à un endroit très chaud et humide pendant

longtemps. Si ce boîtier doit rester longtemps exposé au soleil, veillez à le

recouvrir d’une serviette ou d’un tissu quelconque.

L’appareil photo devient chaud s’il est utilisé pendant un certain temps avec ce

boîtier. Avant de retirer l’appareil photo de ce boîtier, laissez ce boîtier un moment

à l’ombre ou à un endroit frais pour qu’il refroidisse.

Lorsque l’appareil photo est trop chaud, il peut s’éteindre ou l’enregistrement peut

ne pas s’effectuer normalement. Laissez l’appareil photo un moment à un endroit

frais avant de le réutiliser.

Utilisez l’entretoise fournie pour laisser ce boîtier ouvert si vous l’emportez au

bord d’un avion. S’il est bien fermé, les changements de pression à l’intérieur de la

cabine rendront l’ouverture plus difficile. Il est conseillé d’emporter ce boîtier dans

un avion dans l’état indiqué sur l’illustration .

Une infiltration d’eau dans ce boîtier peut être due à un joint torique détendu

ou coupé, à des grains de sable ou à de la poussière sur le joint torique.

Veillez à bien vérifier le joint torique avant d’utiliser ce boîtier.

Pour de plus amples informations, reportez-vous à la notice du joint torique.

Si de l’huile solaire devait tomber sur ce boîtier, prenez soin de l’enlever avec de

l’eau tiède. Si vous laissez ce boîtier avec des taches d’huile au soleil, sa surface

risque de se décolorer ou d’être endommagée (elle peut se craqueler).

Infiltration d’eau

Si de l’eau devait pénétrer dans ce boîtier, retirez-le immédiatement de l’eau.

Si l’appareil photo devait être mouillé, portez-le immédiatement au revendeur Sony

le plus proche. Les frais de réparation seront à la charge du client.
Traitement anti-buée du verre avant

Mettez l’appareil photo dans ce boîtier dans une pièce non humide ou dans un lieu

similaire.

Mettez le dessiccatif dans ce boîtier une ou deux heures avant la prise de vue.

Rangez le reste du dessiccatif dans son emballage original et fermez bien celui-ci.

Le dessiccatif peut être utilisé 200 fois environ si vous le séchez convenablement

après chaque usage.

Avis

Essuyez bien l’appareil photo et séchez-le avant de l’installer dans ce boîtier.

Prenez des photos avec ce boîtier et vérifiez-les pour vous assurer que tout

fonctionne bien avant de filmer ou de prendre des photos.

Avant d’utiliser l’appareil photo sous l’eau et avant la plongée, mettez ce

boîtier dans l’eau à une profondeur de 1 m (3,3 pieds) et assurez-vous d’une

part que l’appareil photo fonctionne correctement et d’autre part que ce

boîtier est bien étanche.

Si une défectuosité du boîtier devait provoquer des dégâts à la suite d’une

infiltration d’eau, Sony ne garantira pas les dégâts causés à l’appareil qu’il

contient (appareil photo numérique, batterie, etc.) ni le contenu de la prise

de vue ou les frais liés à la prise de vue.

Joint torique et garniture pare-gouttes

Joint torique

L’étanchéité de ce boîtier est garantie par un joint torique. Pour de plus amples

informations, reportez-vous à la notice séparée du joint torique.

Une infiltration d’eau peut être due à une mauvaise manipulation du joint torique.
Garniture pare-gouttes

N’enlevez pas et n’appliquez pas de graisse sur la garniture pare-gouttes. Si la

garniture ressort ou est abîmée, de l’eau risque de pénétrer dans le boîtier.

Si la garniture pare-gouttes se détache, remettez-la délicatement dans la rainure sans

la tordre. (Voir l’illustration )
Durée de vie du joint torique et de la garniture pare-gouttes

Joint torique

La durée de vie du joint torique varie selon la fréquence et les conditions

d’utilisation de ce boîtier. Le joint torique dure environ un an.
Garniture pare-gouttes

Remplacez la garniture pare-gouttes par une neuve si elle est rayée ou craquelée.
Une fois le remplacement effectué, assurez-vous que le boîtier est étanche.
Graisse

Utilisez la graisse du tube bleu (fourni). L’emploi de la graisse du tube jaune ou

de la graisse d’une autre marque peut endommager le joint torique et causer des

infiltrations d’eau.

Vous pouvez vous procurer un joint torique, une garniture pare-gouttes, de la

graisse et du dessiccatif auprès du revendeur Sony le plus proche.

Entretien

Après une prise de vue à un endroit exposé à la brise marine, lavez soigneusement

ce boîtier à l’eau douce, en laissant la boucle bien fermée, pour enlever le sel et

le sable, puis essuyez-le avec un chiffon doux et sec. Il est conseillé de laisser ce

boîtier dans de l’eau douce pendant 30 minutes environ. Si le caisson n’est pas bien

nettoyé, le sel restant peut attaquer les deux parties métalliques et causer de la

corrosion, et par la suite une infiltration d’eau.

Si de l’huile solaire devait tomber sur ce boîtier, prenez soin de l’enlever avec de

l’eau tiède.

Essuyez l’intérieur de ce boîtier avec un chiffon doux et sec. Ne le lavez pas à l’eau.

Effectuez toutes les opérations mentionnées ci-dessus chaque fois que vous utilisez

Avant de ranger ce boîtier

Fixez l’entretoise fournie avec ce boîtier pour que le joint torique ne s’use pas.

Eviter d’exposer le joint torique à la poussière.

Recouvrez légèrement le joint torique de graisse et insérez-le dans la rainure, puis

rangez ce boîtier à un endroit frais et bien aéré. Ne fermez pas la boucle.

Evitez de ranger ce boîtier à un endroit froid, très chaud ou humide, ou à

proximité de naphtaline ou de camphre. Cela pourrait l’endommager.

Avant la plongée

Avant d’utiliser l’appareil photo sous l’eau et avant la plongée, mettez ce boîtier

dans l’eau à une profondeur de 1 m et assurez-vous d’une part que l’appareil photo

fonctionne correctement et d’autre part que ce boîtier est bien étanche.

Installez l’appareil photo dans ce boîtier avant la plongée et évitez si possible

d’ouvrir et de fermer ce boîtier à bord d’un bateau ou sur la plage. Lorsque vous

installez l’appareil photo, choisissez un endroit qui n’est pas exposé à l’humidité si

possible.

Avant d’utiliser ce boîtier, assurez-vous qu’aucune saleté n’est prise entre les deux

parties avant et arrière de ce boîtier.

Avant d’utiliser ce boîtier, vérifiez toujours la capacité d’enregistrement de la carte

et l’autonomie de la batterie.

Il est conseillé d’utiliser

(Sous l’eau) pour prendre des photos sous l’eau,

(iPanor. par balayage sous l’eau) pour prendre des photos panoramiques sous l’eau

(Sous l’eau) pour filmer sous l’eau.

Heures les mieux adaptées à la prise de

vue

Les heures les mieux adaptées à la prise de vue sont les heures comprises entre 10:00

du matin et 2:00 de l’après-midi, c’est-à-dire quand le soleil est au zénith.



5 Set the Housing setting of the camera to “Off.”

Notes

When the Housing setting is set to “On,” normal button operation does not work.

When using the camera without installing it in this unit, always set the Housing

setting of the camera to “Off.”

 Detaching and Attaching the

attachment

Do not use excessive force when detaching and attaching the attachment.

Normally, you do not need to detach or attach the attachment. If you do detach

or attach it, follow the procedure below.

1 Detach the front attachment J and rear attachment J. (-1)

Detach at the points marked  and lift the attachment by gripping the point

marked  in the illustration.

2 Attach the front attachment J and rear attachment J. (-2)

Press in all parts marked .

Mount the end of the rear attachment through the vent of the lever. Make sure

the attachment is not misaligned.

Fit the round bosses of the levers in the openings of the rear attachment.

Then, press in the rear attachment to seat it.

When mounting part B, make sure the corner of the attachment is in close

contact with the lever and there is no clearance between it and the lever.

After replacing the attachment, press this unit buttons several times to check

their operation.

* If you remove the attachment from this unit to store it, straighten it before storing.

It may be damaged if stored while not straight.

Troubleshooting

Symptom

There are drops of water

There are scratches or cracks on the O-ring.

Replace the O-ring with a new one.

The black powder is carbon for operating the touch

panel of the camera’s LCD screen. This is not a

malfunction.

Wipe the black powder off with a dry cloth.

The wrong function works

when a button is pressed.

The drops of water remain on the touch panel of the

camera.

Make sure the touch panel of the camera is not

wet. If it is, wipe it with a dry cloth.

The front attachment J and rear attachment J are not

attached correctly.

A function works even

though its button is not

pressed underwater.

This is not a malfunction.

Turn off the power of this unit and then turn it

back on.

A function does not work

turned on or immediately after the power of this

unit was turned on.

The buttons may not work correctly if pressed

If this occurs, turn off the power of this unit and

then turn it back on. Then wait a few seconds until

the display on the LCD screen appears completely

before pressing a button.

The front glass is fogging

up.

Moisture remains in the details of the camera’s outer

shell.

Attach the camera when it is completely dry.

Place the desiccant inside this unit after reading

“Antifogging of the front glass” in this manual.

When using a tripod, use one screws that are 5.5 mm or shorter. This unit cannot be firmly

fastened on a tripod using long screws. Attempting to do so will damage this unit.

Préparatifs

Préparation du joint torique et de la garniture pare-

gouttes

1 Retirez le joint torique du boîtier.

2 Mettez de la graisse sur le joint torique.

Enlevez le sable ou la saleté présente sur le joint torique, dans la rainure du

joint ou sur les deux parties du boîtier touchant le joint torique. Revêtez

uniformément le joint torique d’une fine couche de graisse.

3 Insérez le joint torique dans ce boîtier.

4 Assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas de sable ni saleté sur la garniture pare-

gouttes.

Remarques

N’enlevez pas et n’appliquez pas de graisse sur la garniture pare-gouttes.

Les deux parties de ce boîtier peuvent être rayées ou de l’eau peut s’infiltrer s’il y

a du sable ou de la saleté sur le joint torique ou la garniture pare-gouttes lorsque

vous fermez le couvercle.

Veillez à lire la notice séparée du joint torique.

Vous trouverez dans cette notice des détails importants sur le joint

torique.

Préparation de l’appareil photo

Lorsque vous utilisez l’appareil photo avec ce boîtier, vous devez régler

le paramètre Logement sur « Act » sur l’appareil photo. Pour le détail

sur le paramètre Logement, voir le point 4 ci-dessous.

Mettez l’appareil photo dans ce boîtier dans une pièce non humide ou

dans un lieu similaire. La vitre avant se couvrira de buée si vous ouvrez

ou fermez ce boîtier dans un lieu chaud ou humide.

Essuyez bien l’appareil photo et séchez-le avant de l’installer dans ce

boîtier.

Reportez-vous aussi au mode d’emploi et au guide du Cyber-shot (sur le CD-ROM)

fourni avec l’appareil photo.

1 Détachez la lanière de l’appareil photo.

2 Insérez la batterie et la carte mémoire.

La batterie doit être pleine.

La carte mémoire doit disposer de suffisamment d’espace pour les photos ou le

film que vous voulez prendre.

3 Baissez le cache-objectif pour mettre l’appareil photo sous tension.

Veillez à ne pas toucher l’objectif lorsque vous baissez le cache-objectif.

4 Réglez le paramètre Logement sur « Act ».

Assurez-vous que « Act » est bien spécifié pour le paramètre Logement.

Lorsque le paramètre Logement est réglé sur « Act », les fonctions de l’appareil

photo sont restreintes. Seules les fonctions disponibles dans le mode de prise

de vue sélectionné apparaissent. Choisissez le réglage approprié.

Lorsque l’appareil photo est installé dans ce boîtier, la touche MENU est

désactivée. (Les fonctions telles que le mode de rafale ne peuvent pas être

utilisée après la mise en place)

5 Vérifiez si l’objectif de l’appareil photo et l’écran LCD sont propres.
Remarques

Il est conseillé de régler la balance des blancs sous l’eau sur « Auto ».

Si vous voulez utiliser le mode de rafale, spécifiez-le avant de mettre l’appareil

photo dans ce boîtier.

Les photos enregistrées en mode de rafale peuvent être supprimées de la façon

indiquée dans le tableau «  Lecture ».

L’illuminateur AF ne peut pas être utilisé avec ce boîtier. Lorsque « Act » est

spécifié pour le paramètre Logement, l’illuminateur AF se règle automatiquement

sur « Désact » et ne peut pas être utilisé.

Lorsque le paramètre Logement est réglé que « Act », vous ne pouvez pas utiliser

le crayon à peinture fourni avec l’appareil photo.

 Installation de l’appareil photo dans ce boîtier

1 Ouvrez ce boîtier. (-1)

Faites glisser la touche OPEN  tout en appuyant sur la touche de

déverrouillage .

Libérez la boucle dans le sens de la flèche  pour ouvrir ce boîtier.

Remarques

Faites attention de ne pas perdre l’entretoise car vous devrez la remettre dans ce

boîtier avant de le ranger.

2 Mettez le dessicatif fourni dans ce boîtier.

Placez le dessicatif dans l’espace qui lui est réservé à l’avant de ce boîtier, puis

coincez le dessicatif derrière les griffes . Insérez le dessiccatif complètement à

droite et à gauche, comme indiqué sur l’illustration. (-2)

* Mettez le dessicatif fourni dans ce boîtier une ou deux heures avant la prise de

vue.

3 Appuyez sur la touche ON/OFF (Alimentation) pour mettre l’appareil

photo hors tension.

4 Installez l’appareil photo dans ce boîtier. (-4)

Laissez le cache-objectif de l’appareil photo baissé. L’appareil photo peut

être endommagé si vous essayez de fermer ce boîtier en forçant alors que le

cache-objectif est fermé.

Veillez à mettre l’appareil photo hors tension avant de l’installer ou

de le sortir du boîtier.

Assurez-vous que l’appareil photo est bien en place.

5 Fermez les deux parties de ce boîtier et verrouillez la boucle. (-5)

Les taquets du haut et du bas de la boucle doivent être encliquetés pour que ce

boîtier soit bien fermé.
Remarques

Lorsque vous fermez les deux parties de ce boîtier, assurez-vous qu’il n’y

a pas de saleté, sable, cheveux ou d’autres matières sur le joint torique

ou dans sa rainure.

Si des matières étrangères sont prises à ces endroits, de l’eau peut

pénétrer dans ce boîtier.

1 Fixez la cordelette fournie du pare-soleil LCD à ce boîtier.

2 Alignez le pare-soleil LCD avec le guide et appuyez fermement de la

façon illustrée.

Ecartez le pare-soleil LCD et détachez-le du guide.
Remarques

Attention de ne pas coincer la dragonne ou la lanière de l’accessoire lorsque vous

fermez les deux parties de ce boîtier. Sinon le boîtier risque de laisser l’eau s’infiltrer.

Utilisation de ce boîtier

 Enregistrement

1 Mettez l’appareil photo sous tension. (-1)

2 Changez les réglages de l’appareil photo pour la prise de vue.

Appuyez sur la touche 1, 2 ou 3 de cet appareil pour effectuer les réglages

nécessaires pour la prise de vue.

Fonctionnement des touches 1, 2 et 3

Appuyez lentement sur chaque touche.

Le résultat de l’opération effectuée apparaît sur l’écran lorsque vous relâchez la

touche. Les icônes à la gauche de la touche disparaissent au bout de quelques

secondes.

Les réglages actuels apparaissent à côté de chaque touche. (-2)

Pour passer au mode suivant, appuyez une nouvelle fois sur la même touche et

relâchez-la pendant que le réglage actuel est affiché.
Second appui sur la touche



Vous passez au mode suivant et l’icône indiquant le mode qui vient d’être spécifié

apparaît au centre de l’écran et à la gauche de la touche.

(L’icône au centre de l’écran apparaît seulement au changement de modes.)

Répétez  et  jusqu’à ce que vous trouviez le mode souhaité.

Vous pouvez continuer à changer de mode en appuyant sur la même touche tant

que l’icône est affichée. (-2)

Remarques

Ce boîtier risque de ne pas fonctionner correctement si vous appuyez sur les

touches ou manette lorsqu’il est sous tension ou immédiatement après l’avoir

mis sous tension. Avant d’appuyer sur les touches ou manette, attendez quelques

secondes après l’apparition complète de l’affichage sur l’écran LCD.

Si vous continuez d’appuyer sur la touche 1 pour changer de mode, l’icône

n’apparaît qu’au centre de l’écran lorsque

(i-Panorama par balayage) ou

(Mode Auto Intelligent) est sélectionné. Il ne s’agit pas d’une défectuosité.

Continuez simplement.








