Connecting a Phone Line
You need to connect a phone line to take advantage of online services and the Internet.
Note:
In order to register your Sony VAIO notebook, register your software online, and use Sony Customer Support, you must
connect to a phone line.
1. Plug one end of the phone cable into the modem jack on the notebook.

2. Plug the other end of the phone cable into the wall jack.
Note:
Your notebook does not work with party lines, cannot be connected to a coin-operated telephone, and may not work with
multiple phone lines or a private branch exchange (PBX). Some of these connections may result in excess electrical current
and could cause a malfunction in the internal modem.
If you connect a phone line coming through a splitter, the modem or connected device may not work properly.
