Communicating without Access Point (ad-hoc)

An ad-hoc network is one in which a local network is created only by the
wireless devices themselves, with no other central controller or Access Point.
Each device communicates directly with other devices in the network. You can
set up an ad-hoc network easily at home.

To communicate without an Access Point:

1

Open the notebook and move the Wireless LAN switch on the right to ON.
The Wireless LAN indicator to the left of the switch lights up.

2

Click Start on the Windows taskbar, and then Control Panel.

3

Click Network and Internet Connections, and then Network Connections.

4

Right-click the Wireless Network Connection icon and select Properties.

5

Select the Wireless Networks tab.
