Connect your 3D Blu-ray Disc™ Player to a 3D TV Using an HDMI® Cable

What is 3D TV

Experiennce High Definition TV in a whole new dimension. 3D TV brings you into the action with razor-sharp detail and
clarity that you can almost touch. 3D TV works with 3D active glasses to display a unique frame sequence to each eye
individually, thus resulting in full high definition (HD) 3D images. 3D TV enhances viewing by adding depth to your
television experience.

What you will need & Connection Diagrams

1 High-speed HDMI Cable

Sony 3D glasses & transmitter*

Blu-ray Disc 3D media

*If the Sony TV is 3D ready you will need to purchase the 3D active glasses and 3D sync transmitter separately. Sony TVs
with built in 3D technology have the transmitter built into the TV and come supplied with 3D active glasses.

Why we recommend this hookup

This connection is required in order to view 3D content on a 3D television. You will need to make sure you have a “High-
Speed HDMI” cable because a standard HDMI cable will only produce 2D results. To enjoy 3D content playback you will
also need to have a Blu-ray Disc media encoded in 3D. Standard Blu-ray Disc media will play back in 2D.

Connection instructions

1.

Connect a High-speed HDMI cable to:

a. HDMI OUT jack on the Blu-ray Disc player

b. HDMI IN jack on the TV

Important: A High-Speed HDMI cable is required for 3D content. The cable should be marked
with High-Speed.

2.

If you have a 3D ready TV connect the 3D transmitter to the “3D input” jack on the TV and place the transmitter in
line of sight of the viewing area.

Note: The transmitter uses infra-red technology and will not work if there is an obstruction, such as a wall
between the transmitter and the glasses.
